Clear Quartz gives the design its starting point: a near-colourless, transparent stone with faint internal veining and small natural inclusions. And where the first is quiet, the obsidian is a near-black volcanic glass with a deep, mirror-like surface. As a shape it is a strand that sits at the wrist. It belongs to Tsering Treasures, a series centred on warm metals, carved detail and mixed materials. The mountain motif takes the form of a ridgeline silhouette. High ground recurs throughout this studio’s design language, and the profile is used here as a way of holding a landscape in mind rather than as a claim about where the piece was made.
The individual materials are described below, since each has a different tolerance for water, light and knocks. Day to day, it holds a clean polish well and hides light handling better than a softer stone would. Obsidian needs a separate note: it takes a very high polish but is more brittle than crystalline stone, so it chips rather than scratches. Inside the piece, the brass is a warm yellow metal, softer in colour than copper and slightly less reflective. Handled often, it darkens with use, and in humid air it can take on a green film that wipes away easily.

Care
Avoid prolonged direct sun and household chemicals, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Avoid impact at edges and store it separately so the polished surface is not marked. Wipe it dry after wear; a soft cloth restores the shine, and any intentional antique finish should be left alone. Avoid soaking it, and keep perfume and household cleaners off the surface. Store the piece separately so it does not scratch against harder jewellery.
