The first decision in this design was the thokcha, a dark, heavily patinated metal surface with an uneven, hand-worked feel. The proportions are kept to a hanging piece that sits at the collarbone, and the design belongs to Tsering Treasures, a series centred on warm metals, carved detail and mixed materials. The Buddha motif is rendered as a seated figure in shallow relief. It is drawn from Buddhist visual tradition and gives the design a composed, symmetrical centre; its meaning sits with the wearer rather than in any promised outcome.
Material behaviour explains most of what happens to a piece after a year of wear, so it is worth being specific. Thokcha needs a separate note: the patina is part of the surface and will shift slowly with handling rather than stay uniform.
The piece lists two configurations, namely “Style 1” and “Style 2”. Tell us how you intend to wear it and we will point at the option that suits it. What the motif carries is symbolic, and the meaning it takes on is the wearer’s to decide. Because the stones are selected individually, small variations in colour depth and marking should be expected. Care
Keep it dry, do not over-polish it, and wipe it gently with a soft cloth. Remove it before a shower or a swim, and dry it fully if it does get wet. Storing it apart from other pieces keeps the surface in the condition it arrived in.
