Meaning, material & care

The details behind this piece.

Built around agate, the piece begins with a banded, gently translucent stone whose layers catch light at the polished surface. Beside it, the sterling silver is a bright white metal with a cool tone and a high polish, so the piece reads in two registers at once. It takes the form of a hanging piece that sits at the collarbone, and it belongs to Lhasa Moments, a series built around highland light, stone colour and architectural lines.

The piece mixes several materials, and each one has its own habits in wear. The agate appears as a banded stone that stays faintly translucent, so each layer picks up light differently. Against the skin, it takes daily knocks without dulling, though a thin edge can still chip against stone or metal. Inside the piece, the sterling silver is a cool white metal that takes a mirror-bright polish. Handled often, softer than steel, it collects fine scratches, and the surface slowly shifts toward a darker tone. The silver-tone metal is a bright silver-coloured metal finish rather than solid silver. Over months of wear, it keeps its tone with normal wear, and a plated surface can thin over years of daily contact. Copper — a warm red-brown metal that never glares back at you. In everyday use, its surface deepens in tone the longer it is worn, so the colour you receive keeps moving. The thokcha appears as a dark, heavily patinated metal surface with an uneven, hand-worked feel. Worn against fabric, the patina is part of the surface and will shift slowly with handling rather than stay uniform.

Sizing is confirmed from your own measurement rather than from a standard label. The photographs and the written summary carry the same detail, so nothing about the selected piece is left to assumption. Compassion is presented as a daily reminder, not a therapeutic claim. Each selected piece has its own colour balance and marking, so treat the photograph as a close guide rather than an exact sample. We confirm the current piece, the finished dimensions and the lead time in writing before any payment.

Care

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth and store it separately so the polish is not scratched by other jewellery. Keep it dry, store it in a low-air space, and use a non-abrasive silver cloth when you want the original brightness back. Keep it away from water, perfume and abrasive cloths so the finish lasts longer. Wipe it dry after wear and store it away from damp air; polish only with a copper-safe cloth if you want the original brightness. Keep it dry, do not over-polish it, and wipe it gently with a soft cloth. Storing it apart from other pieces keeps the surface in the condition it arrived in.
