Clear Quartz, Lapis & Sterling Silver Pendant

The clear quartz centre allows internal texture and light to remain visible, while lapis adds a concentrated blue accent. A silver setting gives the composition a cooler, more architectural edge.

Each component is listed with the way it behaves, so nothing about the ageing comes as a surprise. Clear quartz — a transparent, near-colourless stone whose faint internal veining shows through the polish. Day to day, it holds a clean polish well and hides light handling better than a softer stone would. The lapis lazuli is a deep blue stone, usually with flecks of gold-tone pyrite and white calcite through it. Against the skin, it is a softer stone than quartz and will dull where it is rubbed repeatedly. Inside the piece, the sterling silver is a cool white metal that takes a mirror-bright polish. Handled often, softer than steel, it collects fine scratches, and the surface slowly shifts toward a darker tone.

Care

Keep dry, remove before bathing, and wipe metal gently with a soft cloth. Natural patina is expected. Avoid prolonged direct sun and household chemicals, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep it away from water, soap, perfume and household cleaners. Keep it dry, store it in a low-air space, and use a non-abrasive silver cloth when you want the original brightness back. Put it on last and take it off first, and keep it in its own pouch between wears.
