The first decision in this design was the clear quartz, a near-colourless, transparent stone with faint internal veining and small natural inclusions. The form is a strand that sits at the wrist, and it belongs to Snowland Story, where landscape and stone are the starting point for the design. The mountain motif takes the form of a ridgeline silhouette. High ground recurs throughout this studio’s design language, and the profile is used here as a way of holding a landscape in mind rather than as a claim about where the piece was made.
The piece mixes several materials, and each one has its own habits in wear. The clear quartz appears as a transparent, near-colourless stone whose faint internal veining shows through the polish. Against the skin, it holds a clean polish well and hides light handling better than a softer stone would.
The strand is offered in three wrist ranges, from 6.75–8 in to 9.5–10.5 in. The strand comes in three bead sizes, 10 mm through 16 mm. If you are between two options, the smaller one usually sits better on a piece that carries weight. Balance is a personal intention carried at the wrist, not an effect the materials produce. Natural materials vary, so tone, mark and grain will differ slightly from the photographed piece. The piece, its dimensions and the preparation window are set out in writing first, and only then is payment taken.
Care
Avoid prolonged direct sun and household chemicals, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Remove it before a shower or a swim, and dry it fully if it does get wet. Storing it apart from other pieces keeps the surface in the condition it arrived in.
