The first decision in this design was the sterling silver, a bright white metal with a cool tone and a high polish. The second note comes from the silver-tone metal: a bright silver-coloured metal finish rather than solid silver. Physically it is a band built around a centre detail. The piece belongs to Lhasa Moments, a series built around highland light, stone colour and architectural lines. The mountain motif takes the form of a ridgeline silhouette. High ground recurs throughout this studio’s design language, and the profile is used here as a way of holding a landscape in mind rather than as a claim about where the piece was made.
The materials do not age at the same rate, and that difference is worth setting out. The sterling silver appears as a cool white metal that takes a mirror-bright polish. Against the skin, softer than steel, it collects fine scratches, and the surface slowly shifts toward a darker tone. Inside the piece, the silver-tone metal is a bright cool-toned metal finish, plated rather than solid silver. Handled often, the finish holds up well day to day, though a plated layer thins gradually where it rubs.
The ring is offered from US size 4.5 to 10.5, plus a made-to-measure option. If two options are close, say how you plan to wear the piece and we will say which one suits it better. The motif is a reminder of what the wearer chooses to hold in mind, not a guarantee of anything. The finish is worked by hand, and a patina or a matte surface will not repeat identically from one piece to the next. Care
Keep it dry, store it in a low-air space, and use a non-abrasive silver cloth when you want the original brightness back. Keep it away from water, perfume and abrasive cloths so the finish lasts longer. Remove it before a shower or a swim, and dry it fully if it does get wet. Keep it out of a damp room and separate from harder pieces, and the finish will hold far longer.
