The first decision in this design was the chalcedony, a smooth, slightly waxy translucent stone, often in pale blue or white. Beside it, the black agate is an even, near-black agate with a smooth high-gloss surface, so the piece reads in two registers at once. The proportions are kept to a strand that sits at the wrist, and the design belongs to Snowland Story, where landscape and stone are the starting point for the design.
Each material behaves differently, so it is worth knowing how the parts age before you choose. Chalcedony is a different case in wear: it is durable in wear and holds a soft, even polish. For the black agate, the behaviour matters more than the finish: it is hard and durable, with a polish that resists everyday knocks.
Three wrist ranges are listed, spanning 6.75–8 in at the smallest and 9.5–10.5 in at the largest. If you are between two options, the smaller one usually sits better on a piece that carries weight. Clarity is offered here as a reminder rather than as a promised result. Because the stones are selected individually, small variations in colour depth and marking should be expected. The piece, its dimensions and the preparation window are set out in writing first, and only then is payment taken.
Care
Wipe it dry and avoid prolonged soaking and household chemicals. Wipe it dry and store it separately to avoid surface scratches. Remove it before a shower or a swim, and dry it fully if it does get wet. Wipe it after wear, store it dry and away from direct sun, and it will need very little else.
