Meaning, material & care

The details behind this piece.

Read at arm’s length the piece is mostly citrine: a transparent quartz in warm yellow through to amber tones. The second note is the silver-tone metal — a bright silver-coloured metal finish rather than solid silver. Physically it is a strand that sits at the wrist. The piece belongs to Snowland Story, where landscape and stone are the starting point for the design. The mountain motif takes the form of a ridgeline silhouette. High ground recurs throughout this studio’s design language, and the profile is used here as a way of holding a landscape in mind rather than as a claim about where the piece was made.

Here is how each part of the piece behaves over time. Citrine needs a separate note: it takes a bright polish and holds colour well, though it is worth keeping out of long exposure to strong sun. The silver-tone metal appears as a bright cool-toned metal finish, plated rather than solid silver. Over months of wear, the finish holds up well day to day, though a plated layer thins gradually where it rubs. Copper — a warm red-brown metal that never glares back at you. In everyday use, its surface deepens in tone the longer it is worn, so the colour you receive keeps moving. The textile cord is a tight woven cord with a matte, slightly fibrous surface. Worn against fabric, it stays soft against the skin and holds a knot well, but a daily-worn strand will fray where it rubs a clasp.

The piece lists five configurations, including “Yellow - Earth - Wisdom”, “Blue - Sky - Freedom” and “Red - Fire - Bravery”. Three wrist ranges are listed, spanning 6.5–8 in at the smallest and 9.5–10.5 in at the largest. Where the listed range is close to your measurement, it is worth confirming rather than guessing. Joy and abundance describe the intention a wearer may bring to it, not a guaranteed result. Because these are natural materials, expect small differences in colour and pattern between the photo and your piece. Nothing is charged until the exact piece and its measurements have been confirmed with you in writing.

Care

Avoid impact and household chemicals and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep it away from water, perfume and abrasive cloths so the finish lasts longer. Wipe it dry after wear and store it away from damp air; polish only with a copper-safe cloth if you want the original brightness. Keep it dry, avoid perfume and household chemicals, and replace the cord once the fibres begin to lift. Put it on last and take it off first, and keep it in its own pouch between wears.
