Frequently Asked Questions

Metals, warm-toned stones, sizing and ordering for this edit.

01

Is the metal here gold?

Mostly no, and where it is not, the page says so. Copper and brass appear as their own materials, and gold-toned parts are listed as gold-tone rather than as gold. If a piece carries sterling silver or a plated finish, that is named in the same specifications block.

02

Will copper or brass change colour over time?

Copper and brass darken and develop a patina with wear, more quickly in humid conditions. That change is normal and many wearers prefer it. Keeping the piece dry, wiping it after wear and storing it away from open air slows it down considerably.

03

Are any of the warm-toned stones treated or dyed?

Some quartz and agate used in warmer tones are heat-treated or dyed for colour, and when a piece is described that way it is recorded on the product page. Where a stone is left as it came out of the ground, that is also stated.

04

Can these pieces be worn every day?

Yes, with the usual care. Metal beads are the hardiest element in the edit; cording and tassels wear faster, and a strand worn daily is worth having restrung if the cord stiffens or frays. Ask us before it looks worn and we will advise on the fix.

05

Are these suitable as gifts?

They are, and a number of pieces in this edit are chosen with gifting in mind. If you need it to arrive for a date, message us first: preparation time depends on the specific piece, and ready-to-ship items are marked differently from made-to-order ones.

06

How do I choose a size without being measured?

Send the wrist or finger size if you can get it. If not, tell us the recipient’s build and whether they prefer a close or relaxed fit, and we will suggest a strand length. Exchange terms for sizing are set out on the return policy page before you commit.
