Meaning, material & care

The details behind this piece.

The agate sets the tone: a banded, gently translucent stone whose layers catch light at the polished surface. Set against that, the jade is a smooth, subtly translucent stone with a fine internal grain. It takes the form of a strand that sits at the wrist, and it belongs to Tsering Treasures, a series centred on warm metals, carved detail and mixed materials. The Buddha motif is rendered as a seated figure in shallow relief. It is drawn from Buddhist visual tradition and gives the design a composed, symmetrical centre; its meaning sits with the wearer rather than in any promised outcome.

The individual materials are described below, since each has a different tolerance for water, light and knocks. The agate is a banded stone that stays faintly translucent, so each layer picks up light differently. Worn regularly, it takes daily knocks without dulling, though a thin edge can still chip against stone or metal. For the jade, the behaviour matters more than the finish: it is tough and forgiving in daily wear, and the surface takes a gentle sheen with handling. The copper appears as a warm reddish metal with a soft, low-glare surface. Against the skin, it darkens toward a brown patina with wear and skin contact, which some owners prefer and others polish back.

This configuration is sized for a 5.5–5.9 in (14–15 cm) wrist. If you are between two options, the smaller one usually sits better on a piece that carries weight. The quiet reading of this design is a personal cue rather than something the piece delivers. Stone and organic materials are never identical twice: minor variation in tone and figure is part of the material. We confirm the current piece, the finished dimensions and the lead time in writing before any payment.

Care

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth and store it separately so the polish is not scratched by other jewellery. Avoid impact at thin edges and keep it away from household chemicals; a soft dry cloth is enough. Wipe it dry after wear and store it away from damp air; polish only with a copper-safe cloth if you want the original brightness. Water, perfume and cleaning products are the three things most likely to shorten its life. Keep it out of a damp room and separate from harder pieces, and the finish will hold far longer.
