Each component is listed with the way it behaves, so nothing about the ageing comes as a surprise. For the amber-tone, the behaviour matters more than the finish: the colour reads deeper in low light and brighter when held against the light, and a soft surface marks more easily than stone. Inside the piece, the copper is a warm red-brown metal that never glares back at you. Handled often, its surface deepens in tone the longer it is worn, so the colour you receive keeps moving. The textile cord is a tight woven cord with a matte, slightly fibrous surface. Over months of wear, it stays soft against the skin and holds a knot well, but a daily-worn strand will fray where it rubs a clasp.
