Meaning, material & care

The details behind this piece.

The piece opens on the citrine, a transparent quartz in warm yellow through to amber tones. The second note comes from the copper: a warm reddish metal with a soft, low-glare surface. Physically it is a long bead strand built for looping or wearing long. The piece belongs to the Dzi-style bead series, where the bead pattern leads the design and the companion materials support it.

The materials do not age at the same rate, and that difference is worth setting out. For the citrine, the behaviour matters more than the finish: it takes a bright polish and holds colour well, though it is worth keeping out of long exposure to strong sun. Inside the piece, the copper is a warm red-brown metal that never glares back at you. Handled often, its surface deepens in tone the longer it is worn, so the colour you receive keeps moving.

Three wrist ranges are listed, spanning 6.75–8 in at the smallest and 9.5–10.5 in at the largest. Both options are made to the same visual proportions, so the choice is about fit rather than look. Love is a personal association here rather than something the piece is said to do. Because the stones are selected individually, small variations in colour depth and marking should be expected. The piece, its dimensions and the preparation window are set out in writing first, and only then is payment taken.

Care

Avoid impact and household chemicals and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Wipe it dry after wear and store it away from damp air; polish only with a copper-safe cloth if you want the original brightness. Remove it before a shower or a swim, and dry it fully if it does get wet. Keep it out of a damp room and separate from harder pieces, and the finish will hold far longer.
